Senior Year- what a crazy one
I don't know even know where to begin with this, it's such a bittersweet moment. Senior Year is coming to a close but the new chapter is just starting. Throughout all the ups and downs of Senior Year, IB and together all of high school, it's going to be crazy for it all to end. Not to see everyone every day, not to have the late night texts about history that are due tomorrow, which we should've done a month ago but just started 30 minutes ago, to all the friends that I've made and hope to maintain in college. It's crazy to think that we only have about 2 months with each other left then it's the summer., and college. Since I am not going to UNC or State like 65% of the IB class, I won't have the chance to possibly see familiar faces in classes. Well besides Cole (GO PHOENIX!!). I can't believe we are about to leave it all and I did not know where to even begin this blog post so I just started typing so ya um there will be a tad bit of rambling. I have no idea where it will go besides to recognize the important parts of my high school career (if I can even call it that) or my life up until now. So let's just get started with this...
Freshmen year was 3.5 years ago and I can still remember it like CRAZY. That may or may not be because it started on my 15th birthday, but how many people can say that. Anyway, starting g that year I had no idea how I would make my friends or anything as I did not know that many people starting high school because I went to a smaller school. I had no idea that the guy who literally talked to me three times in tech theatre even though we sat next to each other the whole year would turn into one of my good friends by senior year, or the guy who was in my group always would too (thx zac and con). In general, I had no idea that technical theatre would bring you all the friendships that it did, honestly through the process of working shows, you have made the best friends you have at Millbrook. The people in the theatre program are so caring and kind so don't let other people take that from you.
IB was also such a huge part of your high school career. From the late nights that stressed you out to all the friendships, it was all worth it. I know in a couple months I won't remember the stressful night but I will remember the friendships. There are so many people I will miss in college to not have that relationships were I at least have a very good friend in it. That change will be huge for me because I am shy and making goof friends because of that is sometimes harder but if there is something I learned it is to put myself out there so I have made new friends because of that.
Outside of school things also were so important to my high school career, because it made me who I was at school vastly different. On eof, those things were camp and how I spent 2-3 weeks a summer there. When I was a CILT or CIT it truly changed me as I started really looking at the world in a different light and gained so many friendships from that that have become some of the closest friends I have and who I talk to when I really need something (shoutout to Sam L here Vista!).
Looking back on it as much as I always said I hated high school I'm going to miss it and all of the friendships and activities I do, but I know as one door closes another one opens and I'm sure as heck going to enjoy it.
