Ted Talk Saga of Soap Operas Link to Ted Talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/kate_adams_4_larger_than_life_lessons_from_soap_operas#t-731784 When Kate Adams started her talk, she was giving a rundown of the storyline of a soap opera and how over exaggerated they are. She talks about how she worked in soap operas, until 2009 when CBS canceled her show, and how this process changed how she looked at life. She brings her own personal knowledge of soap operas to bring up valuable life lessons that you learn from them. The first lesson is "surrender is not an option." Adams brings in how in soap operas there is no doubt, and the characters just go for things no matter what. The second lesson is "sacrifice your ego and drop the superiority complex." She brings up how we are not as important as we think we are and how we can always ask for help. The third lesson mentioned by Adam is " evolution is real." Jekyll and Hyde

Dr. Jekyll vs. Mr. Hyde, just how mysterious are they? "He is not easy to describe...and yet I really can name nothing out of the way" (Stevenson) "To this rule... This is a matter that I thought we agreed to drop." (Stevenson) When reading the open part of Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde you began to discover how mysterious both the characters are. With the novella, the reader begins to compare the two men and analyze how they are described and presented to them. To do this, I looked at the quote about Hyde from chapter 1 and about Jekyll from chapter 6. Let's dive deeper into those quotes. When reading this quote, the reader begins to understand how mysterious and scary that Hyde is. When Mr. Uttersonis describing him, he mentions how something has to be wrong with him, because of how scary he is. This shows and plays into the idea of the mystery of the novella and lets the reader see how Hyde will be throughout the book. It also shows how no one reall...
